Guidelines for Featured Authors

Global Medical Discovery features papers of exceptional scientific importance and intelligible to a broad scientific audience. Emphasis is given to all aspects of medicine from basic science to clinical studies. Papers featured in Global Medical Discovery must be of high significance in any area of experimental biology, including but not limited to cell biology, molecular biology, neuroscience, immunology, virology and microbiology, cancer, human genetics, systems biology, signaling, and disease mechanisms and therapeutics. Featured papers are assessed primarily on their scientific validity and merit.
Global Medical Discovery is highly selective, the invited articles are less than 0.1% of the whole published literature (that is 20 per week chosen by a team of advisers and experts).

Exposure – widest possible readership
Global Medical Discovery , is available online to academic, corporate and government institutions worldwide  at the click of a mouse, adding speed and visibility to authors’ research papers and contributing significantly to increased citations.

 

 

GUIDELINES FOR FEATURED AUTHORS

SIGNIFICANCE STATEMENT
The goal of the Significance Statement is to allow readers from many fields of life sciences and medicine to understand why a paper is important. It addresses the novelty aspect and the significance of the work with respect to the existing medical literature and more generally to the society.

• The statement should be no longer than 800 words.
• The statement should provide enough contexts for the paper’s implications to be clear to readers.
• Global Medical Discovery staff will edit significance statement for style or language to avoid any grammatical errors.

By highlighting the scientific merit of your research, significance statement will help make your work more visible to our readership. We will then be in a position to use these statements to further promote your article and potentially enhance the overall impact of your research.

FIGURES
Figures (not violating copyright laws) should be provided in a separate single .JPG, .TIFF, .PDF or .PPT file, with a resolution of at least 300 dpi and not be embedded with the significant statement file.

• If a figure consists of separate parts, please submit a single, composite illustration page that includes all parts of the figure. There is no charge for the use of color figures.
• The figure legends should be included in the main text file at the end of the document, rather than as part of the figure file.
• Please note that it is the responsibility of the author(s) to obtain permission publisher to re-use figures that have previously been published.

Note about Key Scientific Articles section: Additional Information and figures contributed by authors for Global Medical Discovery are new data and never been published. The featured authors are the sole owners of the data presented. In some fewer cases a permission to re-use a figure from the featured paper has been granted by the publisher.

FEATURED AUTHORS INFORMATION
Invited scientists and professors have the option of including a short summary about themselves such as their qualifications, current positions they hold at institutions, research interests, with or without authors photograph. The summary will be included at the end of the feature and it will give the readers an opportunity to know more about the authors.

Processing Fee Charges
–   Global Medical Discovery levy, in part, on the payment of publication fees to finance its operations. The small processing fee covers complete editorial workflow and production such as proof reading, copy editing, promotion and extensive dissemination of news about your work, online hosting, ensuring the work is properly evaluated for quality and made easy to find, download and read.

Global Medical Discovery can provide upon request prestigious Key Scientific Article Certificate to the featured scientists and professors. The Certificate is printed on a beautiful parchment paper embellished with a classic color border in an elegant style.
